You may be feeling like a couple of clients from whom I received phone calls in February. In the face of the current market they wanted to move to cash. And can you blame them?
With current conditions that may seem like a great move. But here’s the thing: history would suggest that move is a mistake. And those client’s urges speak volumes to me.
In this month’s Market Commentary Video I look at that potential mistake and why it is most likely not a smart move.
This month I review February’s performance which wasn’t so bad for US markets. I also do our regular review of four major indices:
- US,
- Non-US Developed,
- Emerging, and
- Global Markets.
I talk about the Key to Investing from a sage investor, Howard Marks, who has some investing advice that applies to any market in any environment.
Then I review the major takeaways from one of my favorite reports of the year: Warren Buffet’s letter to investors from Berkshire Hathaway. Simply amazing advice from one of the all time investment greats.
Buffet talks about why betting against America is a bad idea, why he is as optimistic as always and how they had one of their best years ever in the face of some difficult trends.
I’d encourage you to watch the Market Commentary and consider where your head is at and if fear may not be influencing your investment decisions rather than rational, historically sound methodologies.
